Early Check in
Early check in is subject to availability but can be requested with an early check in fee. If you would need to have a guaranteed early check in, you are welcome to book the night before at the full rate. Please contact the front desk to give your request for early check in in email@example.com.
Late check out
Late check out is subject to availability but can be requested with a late check out fee until 14:00h.Please contact the front desk directly during your stay to give your request for late check out or in firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to book it in advance.
Cancellations / Modifications/ No show policy
All reservations can be modified or cancelled up to 7 days prior to the check in date. After this the credit/debit card used to make the reservation will be charged for the full cost of your stay. If you do not cancel, modify the booking or if you don't show up, the fee will be the full cost of your stay. From 1st of March 2021, the cancellation policy will apply, regardless of Coronavirus. All cancellations/modifications must be confirmed in writing via email at email@example.com . Cancellations by phone calls will not be accepted. Different terms apply for groups of 6+ rooms. Regarding group bookings rooms please contact the hotel for further information at firstname.lastname@example.org .If you have made a booking via a third party, you will need to cancel or modify your reservation with them directly. Non-refundable bookings via third party websites (Booking.com/Expedia) cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Our breakfast buffet is served in our restaurant daily between 08:00 to 10:00 at winter and between 07:00-10:00 at summer. If you plan to take off early you are also welcome to order a breakfast box to go. Just let us know in advance and we will prepare it for you. Our breakfast contains a selection of hot and cold dishes. Our breakfast buffet offers gluten free , lactose free , vegetarian , vegan and dairy free options. Please be advised by our waiters.
Extra beds and baby cribs
Extra beds and baby cribs can be provided for free for children under the age of 6 with the maximum of one extra bed or baby crib per room. There is a fee for extra bed for children above 6 and adults. The fee for the 3rd person is 7.900isk during the winter period and 9.800isk in the summer period.

Credit card policy
All room bookings must be guaranteed with a valid credit card and expiration date. The hotel does not accept prepaid credit cards nor cards that are not chip and pin.
We do not charge the credit card at the time of booking. The credit card is used as a guarantee to hold the room and must be valid 7 days prior to check-in,on the cancellation cut-off date or we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. You will need to present your credit card upon check in. Please note that we do not pre-authorize your credit card, but we retain the right to charge it in case of room damages/smoking.
Please note that Hotel Kría is a non-smoking hotel. You are welcome to smoke outside by the entrance. In accordance with Icelandic law, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hotel premises. Icelandic law has extended the ban to include the use of e-cigarettes. Contravening this ban inside the hotel premises will result in a charge of 50.000kr.
Room damages/Missing Items
Hotel Kría reserves the right to charge guests for any damages or missing items the amount it costs to replace item or return room to its original state.
Parking Lot Policy
The hotel offers parking free of charge for all guests. However, we are not responsible for the supervision of the vehicle. Therefore, please ensure that doors, trunk department, windows and sunroof of your car are closed and that you haven’t left any objects visible inside before you leave it. We accept no liability for damage caused by unforeseeable events such as storm, hailstones, explosions and fire, nor do we accept liability for theft or damage caused by third parties.In the event of heavy snowfall the parking lot may not be cleaned on a regular basis.Please make sure you purchase all necessary insurances from your car rental agency.
To ensure a restful stay for all our guests, parties and loud gatherings are not allowed in the hotel guests rooms or hallways. The hotel values its guest and enforces a strict policy on noise and disturbance. Guests who violate this policy with excessive noise, overcrowding in rooms, or parties may be evicted without a refund. No noise hours are between 23:00 – 07:00 (11pm-7am).
Laundry facilities policy
By using our service, you agree that your clothes are suitable to be washed in water, on a normal cycle, and dried using heat in a tumble dryer. We cannot be responsible for any damage to clothing that is not suitable for this standard laundering process. if something is “dry-clean only,” or otherwise unsuitable for common washing and drying techniques, please do not include it in the laundry you give to us. We wash all items together as our standard procedure. If you prefer, and notify us ahead of time, we can wash items separately. It is preferred you separate before dropping your clothes off .Along the same lines, we can’t be held responsible for the re-disposition of colors (aka bleeding) or dimensional changes (aka shrinking or stretching).
